Update 2/25/25: Card now live, looks like it has a 10,000 mile bonus after $3,000 in spend as a launch bonus.
ANA plans to launch a new credit card called ‘ANA CARD U.S.A. Plus’. An e-mail was sent out to US based members. Details are as follows:
- $85 annual fee
- 5000 miles after first purchase
- points rewards: 2x on ANA purchase, 1x on others
- no foreign transaction fee
- 25% boost on ANA miles when you fly with ANA
- 10% discount on in-flight purchases
- 10% discount on ANA operated duty free shop at the airport
- 5% discount on ANA group
- Full terms can be found here.
E-mail also mentions ‘We have even better deals! We will send an email soon.’ so not sure what that means. JAL also just launched new US credit cards, so I suspect this is in response to that.
Because there’re so many plus sizes here
lol my offer is $10k points for $7k spend
10k for 3k spend is horrendous. Better off getting a cashback card. Only use case for this card is people constantly flying back in forth to Asia in ANA and I’d still rather spend it on a Platinum or Sapphire Reserve.
the use case is on their website. Japanese folks who need to build credit in the USA!
it’s not targeted at DOC demographics
First thing it says on the signup page is “ANA Recommended Credit Card Ideal for U.S. Expats and ResidentsDesigned for ANA Mileage Club members with a U.S. address, even without a U.S. credit history.”
It’s actually not bad for Japanese expats that need to build credit. AF waived first year and no FTF, plus easier ANA Bronze (lol) status.
Where will the 10k miles get me? From JFK to LGA
Wow. Your card. So big. GARGANTUAN.
My card. So smarr.
Credit-u card-u bad-u!
This new card is bulbous!
Mastodonic!
if we could spend our way to Diamond status…what exactly is the “plus” in the offering?
Is it live? https://www.anacardusa.com/en/about/tokuten.html
I am wondering if ANA miles can be extended through using the card?
It would be like a sub for those who have had ANA miles stranded for a while with no short term way of using them
It’s surprising that neither ANA or JAL partnered with JCB in the US to issue a card as both airlines offer JCB rewards cards in Japan. Delta used to have a US JCB card that earned 1.5 miles per $1 and no annual fee. JCB no longer operates in the US.
Think you answered your own question. “JCB no longer operates in the US.”
That’s not the point. Why does FNBO offer JAL and ANA cards in the US, yet do not provide customer service in Japanese while JCB US did and partnered with both airlines in Japan.
