Bank of America has announced that the Sonesta card will be discontinued. Important details are as follows:
- Program will officially end on 2/12/26
- Annual fee will be refunded if you were charged one from March 2025 – November 2025. If yours is due December, 2025 – February, 2026 you won’t be charged one
- Anniversary bonus (30,000 points after $7,000 in spend) can still be met and the spend requirement has been reduced to $3,750. If you product change card before it changes to Unlimited (see below) you’ll lose the anniversary bonus even if you have hit the spend requirement.
- Card will be automatically converted to the Unlimited rewards card. Card number won’t change and you can continue to use your existing card until the new one arrives. Unlimited card earns 1.5% cash back on all purchases.
Some readers will have this card from when it offered a 125,000 point bonus. It’s not a huge surprise this card is being discontinued given it stopped accepting applications at the start of 2025.
