[Expired] Bilt Rent Day (January 2025): Accor Status Match

Deal has ended, view more Bilt deals by clicking here.

The Offer

  • Bilt rent day for January 2025 is as follows. Get an Accor Live Limitless status match
    • Bilt Blue: Free ALL Silver status
    • Bilt Silver: Free ALL Silver status, or ALL Gold status for 5,000 points
    • Bilt Gold: Free ALL Silver status, or ALL Gold status for 2,000 points
    • Bilt Platinum: Free ALL Silver status, ALL Gold status for 2,000 points, or ALL Platinum status for 5,000 points

Our Verdict

Status is valid until December 31, 2025 and you can keep it through December 31, 2026 by completing the following:

  • Silver status: Three qualifying nights
  • Gold status: Eight qualifying nights
  • Platinum status: No shortcut, but if you don’t meet the normal requirements for Platinum you’ll receive a soft landing to gold status through 2026

Kind of lame that you have to spend points for the better status.

Did the platinum match a couple of hours ago, but have not received the points or the status yet, I wouldn’t usually be worried but seems others got it instantly?

I got an email from Bilt to finish activating my status. then login/make an account and there is a code prefilled to activate the status

I did gold, then followed the email link to finish activating, and it took a few more hours to update the status. So efficient. A very good sign for things to come with this. Not.

I think better question is what’s the higher level statuses are worth (if anything) for potential matches to other programs…

Did you choose the 2k points option or the free option?

I clicked free and my email from Bilt says I would get Accor silver. But the email from Accor says gold

Same except I’m only Bilt silver. I didn’t have an Accor account before so I signed up through Bilt, not sure if that had anything to do with it?

accor has a fixed-point value of 2cpp. So points will always be worth 2 cents and bookings are dynamic based on that. So without a point transfer bonus you’re not really good much value out of transfers. (Bilt does seem to give slightly better value than Citi and Cap 1 though.)

2 Eurocents, so each point worth slightly higher (still) than 2 cpp.

The T&C says that the higher level will activate upon the transfer of points. For example, if Gold Bilt you could “…activate your Accor Gold status request with a transfer of 2,000 Bilt points to ALL Reward points…” Does this sound like it isn’t “costing” 2,000 points but just triggers with a transfer of 2,000 points to your ALL account?

That’s how the flying blue status match works as well so that’s what I expected.

Can someone educate us on what we need to do in order to get the ALL silver? I am a lowly Bilt blue. Do I need to register my ALL account number somewhere?

The Bilt app will walk you through it.

@William Details on the benefits of each Accor category may be helpful for readers:

According to Accor, ALL Silver gets a welcome drink and late checkout. ALL Gold gets what ALL Silver gets, plus early check-in and an upgrade. ALL Platinum gets what ALL Silver and ALL Gold gets, plus lounge access and a suite upgrade.

I’m currently BILT Gold, so I get ALL Silver, if I register, and could purchase ALL Gold for the equivalent of $20 in BILT points (at 1:1 breakeven valuation, not the 1:2 inflated valuation). Is it worth $20 for the ‘possibility’ of an early check-in or an upgrade? In my opinion, it is not; these benefits are subject to availability, so depending on the particular property, they can just ignore the benefits. Also, this brand is mostly overseas, so domestic US travelers will find it hard to use these benefits. Lame, indeed.

I imagine the calculus for Accor is that given their paltry US presence, giving out free status might incentivize travel miles folks away from completely ignoring them when traveling abroad. They must have stark stats on the number of US-based ALL members.

I know anecdotally I was concerning some Accor properties where I’m staying next year but decided on Hiltons instead because Gold. Not that ALL Silver would mean anything but if I had had this I might have considered them for a one night.

@Eddie If you are playing the Hilton game, please get the Amex Aspire for automatic Diamond; if you plan it right, the free night pays for the card, even if you only stay one night a year.
