There is also TSA Touchless ID at select airports with United and Delta. Literally, touchless ID has a shorter line than TSA Precheck, Clear, and everything else.

Look how limited that is… American Airlines (DCA)
Delta Air Lines (ATL, DCA, DTW, JFK, LAX, LGA, SLC)
United Airlines (ATL, DCA, EWR, LAS, LAX, LGA, ORD, SLC)
Alaska Airlines (ATL, DCA)

Clear is completely useless if you have TSA PRE. Every time I go through Clear I regret it cause you have to wait for an agent to escort you and there’s only a limited number of agents. There’s also a ton of people who will just stand in the Clear line when the TSA PRE line is literally empty. I’ve started picking out people in the Clear line now while I go through TSA PRE and I’ve always gotten through before the person I picked out. If it wasn’t free, I wouldn’t have it. Such a sham

It can be completely situational. It has come in handy twice. Once at Midway when the PreCheck line had like 30 people in it. The second was when I lost my license and it got me through without any hassles (coming back home so I couldn’t use an alternate ID)

Went to airport with someone without clear. I used clear line they didnt. They cleared three minutes before me. Too many people have clear and i have always found it to be more of a hassle than benefit.

I clearly do not see much benefit of paying for CLEAR. All they do is check your biometrics instead of the TSA checking your ID. Doesn’t save much time and they are not available at all the airport and they have limited hours.
I had a terrible experience at ATL where the CLEAR employees let their friends and family bypass the line. That’s the reason why the CLEAR lines are so much longer at ATL.

And people in Atlanta have a big family… 10 kids per family.

yay! I can pay more to give my most important PII to a private company? Who doesn’t want that!

The people that use clear even if free are annoying – the government has your biometrics but to give it to a private company is something else

ID.me is also a private company but they validate you for government services (like the DMV).

Yes, but they do have a lot of regulations on biometrics imposed by the government, people can create the account without biometrics as well.

I got clear from amex and used it once. I still had to show my ID and boarding pass. I don’t understand the benefit of it.

What’s even the point of CLEAR? Most of time it’s dead or there is still a line like DEN / ATL. Precheck line moves along nicely. 15 mins top.

I got CLEAR via the Aspire w the Uber voucher. Seems like you can only use it to or from an airport with CLEAR.
Question – is CLEAR something that tries to auto renew you as a member & you have to manually cancel?
Thanks for any info.

The only thing Clear is good for is their uber voucher deals
