Comenity Fuel Rewards Card To Close On April 30th, 2018

Reader s_c_r_s tried to request a credit limit increase on their Comenity Fuel Rewards Card, but the box/request for a credit limit increase was missing. After calling Comenity by telephone they were informed that Comenity is closing all Fuel Rewards Master Card accounts, effective April 30, 2018 and no more credit line increases are available. There will also not be any option to product change this card to any other Comenity credit card. When the representative was pressed on what this means for the Fuel Rewards Network in general they stated that they didn’t have access to this informaiton (as s_c_r_s pointed out Comenity’s parent company Alliance Data operates Fuel Rewards program for Shell). Cardholders should receive a letter in the next 14 days describing these changes.

Sorry, but I think these convoluted fuel rewards cars are confusing and annoying. I am happy to se them go.

s_c_r_s = SO_CAL_RETAIL_SLUT Help!! I’ve been censored by the Doctor!!..lol

I will miss this card. At times, I have had the discount as high as .85c per gallon, more often it has been at .50c per gallon.

Unlike others who have reported problems with Comenity, I haven’t had any problems with the Fuel Rewards card itself, and was given a decent credit limit of 11k.

I know, not the greatest card – but for trips where I’m not near Costco or Sam’s Club for gas, I have been fairly successful finding Shell stations that had more competitive prices.

 William Charles BoA AICPA branded rewards card is changing to BoA Cash Rewards starting April 2018. Got a letter stating the same. Number stays the same.

Hopefully this does not mean the end of the Shell Fuel Rewards program. I just became a Fuel Rewards member last month, as I noticed that the Shell station in my town has brought its pump prices inline with all the other stations in town (previously they were about 5-7 cents higher). The Shell Fuel Rewards program can save you money if you plan ahead. At least 5 cents off being a member, additional 5 cents off on Tuesdays, link IHG CC to program to get 6 cents off, buy Shell gift cards at grocery stores to get 15 cents off and get CC points, refer new members, etc.

Is the 5% added automatically on Tuesday? Or we should do something in our account?

It is automatic. Only Tuesdays during the Big 10 football and basketball season. Sign is posted right at the pump.

The fuel rewards save 45 cents off per gallon deal from Groupon/MasterCard/shell deal has also died as of last week… wonder if this is linked.
