Amazon is releasing daily Prime deals as a lead-up to Prime Day on July 12. Today there is a deal for Prime members at Audible, an Amazon company:
- Signup for Audible and get 3-month free membership – one free Audiobook download per month
- Also, get a free $10 Amazon credit as a bonus
After the 3-months free, a $14.95 monthly charge will apply if membership is not cancelled.
This offer is valid today, 7/7, and on Prime Day, 7/12 from midnight until midnight, PT. It is not available on the days between 7/7 and 7/12; only on those two days.
The Fine Print
- One offer per customer and account
- $10 promotional credit expires after 90 days
- $10 credit can’t be used to buy Amazon gift cards (sounds like third-party gift cards will work)
- Only available to those eligible for an Audible trial
Our Verdict
Easy $10 moneymaker for Prime members. Just be sure to mark down on your calendar to cancel the Audible membership before the fee hits (if you don’t want to keep it). It’s easy to cancel your Audible membership online.
Bear in mind that there are often portal deals which are moneymakers with Audible. Still probably worth doing since this one is a bit easier, and the other deals might be a thing of the past (I don’t recall the other deal being around recently). If you’ve done a free Audible trial in the past, the terms indicate that you will NOT qualify for this offer.
If you aren’t a Prime member, you can signup for a free 30-day trial if you’ve never done so before. It might not be a bad idea to do the trial now, given this deal and other deals that might come with Prime Day. It seems that this deal is only for the mail Prime member, not for secondary Prime members grandfathered under the old system.
You can also go through a shopping portal to try to get extra cash back with your Audible signup. It doesn’t look like there are any deals on big shopping portals, but here are a couple $12.50 options on smaller portals to try out. Not sure if it will work or not.
