Our Verdict
Seems like a lot of people are getting this offer when going into their UberEATS account > Wallet > scroll down until you see “Paypal Uber One offer”. I found this offer on my account, and it appears to be available for anyone who does not currently have Uber One.
Easy enough to sign up and get the freebie. Note: you must use Paypal as your payment method when completing a purchase in order to receive the Uber One benefits.
Even if you pay with your Uber balance you’ll still get the Uber One benefits and discounts provided you have Paypal as the backup/default payment. Note that you won’t be able to use the Gold and Platinum monthly credits with this as you’d set your payment method to an Amex card to use those and that negates the Uber One benefits. After using up those credits, switch back to Paypal and you’ll get the Uber One benefits on your next ride/meal.
The fine print states: “You can cancel your membership at any time in the Uber One section of the Uber app…If you cancel before the 5-month free trial ends, you will still receive the full 5 months free.” I cancelled mine immediately in the Uber app. It shows my Uber One membership as valid and ending on 1/3/26.
There’s also a free six month trial for Apple cardholders which shows there as well.
