Didn’t think I’d be writing about Smart & Final again…
The Offer
- Purchase $50 of select gift cards and receive a $10 in-store credit to be used toward ordinary purchases in the store. (Credit can not be used to buy gift cards.)
The eligible gift cards are: JC Penny, Macy’s, Jiffy Lube, Michaels, Coldstone Creamery and Yard House
The Fine Print
- Valid until 5/12/15
- Limit of one $10 coupon per customer/transaction.
- Coupon will print at the bottom of the receipt. (Don’t throw that receipt out!)
- $10 coupon must be redeemed by 5/26/15.
Our Verdict
If I would have seen this offer one month ago, I probably would have whizzed straight by it. But of course we got know about Smart & Final very well due to the Amex Offer of $25 off $50.
My guess is that most of you in the Smart & Final footprint already used up the Offer. If you didn’t, this could be an opportunity to get an extra $10 store credit at the store which can be used for ordinary groceries and the like.
There are many other gift cards sold at Smart & Final which present a better deal than these, such as Visa gift cards, but most likely the gift card rack is worn thin from all those who were using their Amex cards. Some of these gift cards which have the deal can be resold for 75% of its value or more, so if you can actually use up the $10 coupon that you get with this deal – you can almost break even and cash out the Amex Offers completely that way.
Important Note: There have been many reports of Smart & Final stores not allowing credit cards to be used on gift card purchases. Many have had success.
