When you first start blogging, it can be extremely frustrating to break a deal and then see other bigger blogs get the credit for it. It’s equally frustrating to write an awesome article and then nobody reads it. When I first started blogging both of these things happened on a frequent basis and I almost stopped blogging entirely, fortunately a few of the bigger bloggers started noticing me and linking to me.
That created a snow ball effect, I wanted to find deals that nobody else had found and I wanted to write more in depth posts because I knew at least some people were reading the blog. I try to add new blogs to my feedly account whenever I see them and link to them whenever I see them write something interesting, but I’m sure I (and my readers) have missed lots of awesome posts purely due to the fact I wasn’t following that particular blog.
So if you have a blog (that’s somewhat related to Doctor of Credit, whether it’s a deal site, consumer credit or travel) and want at least one new reader, leave a comment here (feel free to include a link to one or two of your best posts) and I’ll add it to my feedly. If I see something interesting/noteworthy I’ll make sure to include it in one of our recaps.
I can’t guarantee that I’ll keep reading if you just post complete crap, but I’ll at least give you a go. If you don’t have a blog, feel free to recommend some smaller blogs that I should be following.
