Hyatt Launches FIND Experiences – Redeem Points (1.4¢) Or Earn 10x Hyatt Points

Most major loyalty programs now allow you to redeem points for unique experiences. Hyatt has launched a new program called FIND experiences. This reminds me a little more of AirBnB and other travel portals offerings rather than truly unique experiences that you’d expect to find with SPG for example. Experiences also have a fixed price rather than a bidding system.

• Users earn 10 Hyatt base points per $1 spent
• You can redeem points and it seems like they are worth 1.4¢ per point when doing so

I’m actually surprised that the redemption value is that high. Usually when these types of things are rolled out the redemption rate is terrible and you’d never consider it. FIND experiences is just a white label of the website IfOnly (although choice of experiences is dramatically smaller), that normally earns 5%+ through other portals. Personally I’d prefer the 10x Hyatt points.

I tried to find some of the experiences on other sites to see if Hyatt/IfOnly were just pumping up the prices to be able to offer 10x and I actually didn’t have much success. I’m not sure if that’s just because the activities are titled differently or if they exclusive to IfOnly. I used to hate these sort of experiences, but as I get older I realize that’s mostly because at the time I was cash poor and time rich, whereas now it seems to be more of the reverse. That being said a lot of the experiences still seem quite expensive and I always try to book directly for this type of thing as I’ve had better experiences that way in the past.
