Creditors must inform individuals: that they report negative information to the credit bureaus and that they are placing negative information on their credit report when they do so. This is covered under FCRA and doesn’t need to be a separate notice, so most creditors will add this notice to any existing correspondence they have with a consumer.
For example, if you miss a credit card payment the credit card issuer will add this notice to your next account statement.
