The Offer
- Kroger and affiliated stores are offering 4x fuel points on $25, $50 & $100 Mastercard/Visa gift cards until 8/23/17
The standard deal at Kroger is 2x fuel points on gift card purchases, and they’ll occasionally release offers like this one to get 4x fuel points. Login to your online account to find the coupon at your local store and load it to your card.
Our Verdict
Usually, every 1000 fuel points will get you a discount of $1 per gallon with a 35-gallon limit, a max value of $35 per 1000-points. (These details do vary by store and region.) If you buy $250 in gift cards and max out the 35-gallons, it’ll end up a 14% discount on the gift cards. You can also get free cell phone service with Kroger when you earn fuel rewards points.
Hat tip to reader Elizabeth
I wonder if this is regional? I’m in WA so my Kroger stores are Fred Meyer & QFC. I loaded those apps & the Kroger app itself & couldn’t find the coupon. I scrolled thru the whole list (and god was it long) of coupons, didn’t see it. Refined list to “gift cards” and they only had a Red Robin deal. Does anyone remember what category they found the coupon in?
For those wondering, this deal DOES NOT stack with the other current 4x gift cards promo to give 6x points like in the recent couple of months. I just loaded the coupon and purchased a $100 Visa card and got 4x points.
I also don’t see this coupon. If anyone does have it, I suggest loading both this coupon and the current 4x coupon on all gift cards (expires 8/16). In the past, these offers have stacked in a strange way to give 6x fuel points on Visa/MC gift cards during the overlap.
Any suggestion where do I get a vehicle that takes 35 gallons? Need to maximise my redemption value.
Don’t buy gas cans or go with your friends/family (they don’t care), just buy a $80,000 RV so you can max out the 35 gallons obviously
Can anyone do the math at which point the discount on gas for a given RV will result in a net gain from this promotion?
Vehicle doesn’t matter. You pay $5.95 for $0.40 off per gallon. You come out ahead at 14.875 gallons.
If you spent as much time trying to come up with a backhanded response to the deal and applied it to a google search, you’d see people use passthrough methods or bring gas cans like myself.
I looked into it, but it seems like it’s against most insurance policies to store more than 5 gal of gas in your house; that’s even if you have a house in the first place.
It seems gas evaporates even when stored in can, so, even if it wasn’t against your apartment lease terms, it’d be a really dodgy situation to store all that gas next to where you eat and sleep.
actually that should say “If you spent as much time doing a google search as YOU DO TRYING TO COME UP WITH A BACKHANDED RESPONSE…… see, you’re comparing how much time he ALREADY spends….. see how that works? 🙂 JS…..,
Imma leave this right here……… k?
All of you be nice to each other. I’m not singling everybody out but honestly what’s the point of any of this? I’m really disappointed in all of you.
Not seeing it on Kroger website.
