If you go on a Princess or Holland America cruise you can apply these to your account as on board credit and then turn them into cash at the casino by charging your room to fund a video poker or slot machine and then cashing out with zero or minimal play. Probably works on other cruises too.
Alternatively, the house edge / expected value for Jacks or Better video poker is ~95% on cruises, so discounted gift cards (especially if bought with a 2%+ CB card) can give you the edge over the house with perfect or near perfect play, useful if you are willing to play through enough money in to get a future comped cruise. (Just don’t play through the money more than once or you lose your edge!)

Does this work as online shopping category for cards like the BofA customized cash rewards?
In the past no, it codes as ‘POI Funding Transactions’ which is excluded.
