Kroger Mastercard is offering a new signup bonus for gas saving during the first year of card membership. There are various signup offers.
The Offer
Kroger Offer | Fred Meyer Offer
- Save an additional 55¢ per gallon of fuel each time you redeem at least 100 fuel points at Kroger Fuel Centers for the first year.
- Fred Myers credit card is offering savings of up to $1.55 per gallon during the first year each time you redeem up to 1,000 fuel points at Fred Meyer and Kroger Family of Companies Fuel Centers.
Other offers:
- The regular signup bonus on this card is $100 after $500 spend, and some of the Kroger brands are still showing that bonus instead of the $.55/gallon bonus.
- In the past we’ve seen a signup bonus as high as $150.

The Fine Print

- Offer applies to new cardmembers only who apply by September 1, 2022.
- Discount is available at Kroger Family of Companies Fuel Centers each time you redeem at least 100 existing fuel points earned in a single month.
- You must scan, redeem fuel points and pay with your Kroger Family of Companies Rewards World Elite Mastercard® in order to receive the fuel discount.
- The first-year additional 55¢ discount offer expires one year from the cardmember’s approval date and does not require a spend minimum.
- However, if you spend at least $6,000 on net eligible purchases during the first 12 months that your Account is open, once the additional 55¢ discount has expired, you will receive a 25¢ discount for the remainder of that calendar year and for the entirety of the next calendar year, ending the following January 31. After that, eligibility is determined on a calendar year basis. If you spend at least $6,000 on purchases in a calendar year, you get the 25¢ discount for the remainder of that calendar year (starting the month after you met the minimum spend requirement) and for the entirety of the next calendar year, ending the following January 31.

- Earn 5% cash back on mobile wallet transactions (up to $3,000 in spend)

- Earn 1% cash back on all other purchases

Our Verdict
I have a difficult time analyzing the value of these offers. Hopefully someone more used to the Kroger fuel points system will chime in with their thoughts.
