[Update] Most Personal American Express Cards now have Additional $200 Signup Bonus for Spend at Furniture Store (Referral Offer Only)

Update 3/21/21: Just to accentuate this deal further:

Many American Express personal cards are now at their best-ever offers due to the added $200 (plus the referral credit and the furniture bonus for referrer). For example:

  • Gold personal card with 75,000 points + $200 furniture credit (YMMV, not all links show this)
  • Green personal card with 50,000 points + $200 furniture credit
  • Blue Cash Preferred with $300 + $200 furniture credit
  • Everyday Preferred with 30,000 points + $200 furniture credit
  • Etc.
  • The personal Platinum card does show 75,000 + 10x gas/grocery + $200. Most people aren’t getting to show 100,000 + 10x + $200, but there have been sporadic reports of that too.

Original Post:

If you use a referral link to apply for an American Express card, you’ll see on most personal AmEx cards the standard signup bonus + an additional statement credit of up to $200 to offset spend at select U.S. furniture stores. E.g. 75,000 points with $4,000 spend + $200 furniture statement credit.

Plus, Earn Up to $200 Back in Statement Credits on eligible purchases at select U.S. home furnishing stores made with your new Card within your first 3 months of Card Membership. Apply by 05/05/2021.

Eligible purchases at the following merchants will qualify: Anthropologie – Home & Furniture, Bed Bath & Beyond, CB2, Crate and Barrel, Crate and Kids, The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Terrain, and The Container Store. This offer is slated to be around through May 5, 2021.

Lowe’s and Home Depot sell Visa gift cards and other gift cards to places like eBay, Amazon, gas, etc., so it should be easy to max out the $200 spend.

Not all personal cards have the $200 extra bonus, but most do. Really sweet. What’s especially nice that it’s showing specifically on referral links which means that your friend will get a nice bonus too.
