The Offer
- Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) is offering a $200 Digital Investor Membership Offer. Must make three recurring transfers in 90 days of at least $200
The Fine Print
- Offer valid October 1 – December 31, 2024, and can expire anytime without prior notice. To qualify for the $200 match, you must be 18 years or older and eligible for membership; join Navy Federal between October 1 – December 31, 2024; open a new Digital Investor account by December 31, 2024; and make at least 1 recurring deposit per month for 3 consecutive months within 90 days of opening new Digital Investor account.
Avoiding Fees
Monthly fee of $3.50 or $2.50 if you also have an Active Duty checking account with Navy Federal
Our Verdict
Unfortunately you’re not eligible if you’re an existing NFCU member as you need to join. Looks like you also need to open a savings and checking account. You can avoid a hard pull when opening an account. Requirements for this seem relatively easy, but annoying three accounts need to be opened.

Has anyone closed the Digital Investor account yet? Is there a wait time required before closing to avoid a bonus claw back?
Yes, no.
Thanks for the reply….much appreciated!

Got hit with a returned deposit fee when my auto-transfer pulled before I was able to cancel it. Will try to get that waived
Also, for future info, I just noticed there is a New Member Promotion tab within the FAQs in the Digital Investor, which could be helpful for checking enrollment or terms
Update: they did not waive the $20 fee, saying that their processor charges them the fee so they pass it on
Paid today.
Opened back in November and did 3 auto transfers( 1 per month) from the checking account to the digital investor account and manually back to the checking. Used the same $200
Signed up 11/4, paid out 2/20. Easy and simple.
Any reason to keep the NFCU checking account open (after the digital investor bonus posts and that account is already closed)?
I’d keep a relationship of some kind (only if its fee free) incase other offers come up so you don’t have to waste another HP to come back later. I keep a fee free CC with them I don’t use to maintain that.
How do you actually withdraw money from this account back to your checking? If I go into my account, it shows a cash value of $200, but if I click “withdraw” under transfers, it says I have $0 available for withdrawal. The transfer in was on the 1st of the month, so it’s been 11 days now.
Wait a bit longer until it updates the amount available to withdraw. It’s really slow.
Its 7 business days which is absolutly ridiculous
agreed
Anyone got their credit yet?
I did. It posts in the Digital Investor Account (not the linked checking) as “Interest Income – generated: transfer”
Thank you! Do you know roughly how long it was between sign up and payout?
Maybe a dumb question, but the funds only need to be auto transferred into the digital investor account and not actually invested, correct?
Correct. There is no requirement to actually invest, only to fund.
Yes. I have a mid month auto transfer which I manually transfer out at the end of that same month
