American Express has started a new referral campaign, and there are a number of higher signup offers that you can generate by referrals at this very moment. If you see any missing offers, please drop them in the comments and I will update this post. Note that some cards do not seem to be eligible for this campaign—for example, I am unable to create a referral link for my personal Platinum, even by inputting my card information.

The Offers

The Unexpected
- Blue Cash Everyday: $100 back as a statement after they make $1,000 in purchases within the first 3 months, AND earn 10% back at U.S. Restaurants for the first 6 months, up to $200 back in statement credits. Expires 05/03/2017. Referrer earns $100 (up to $550 per calendar year).
- Blue Cash Preferred: $150 back as a statement after they make $1,000 in purchases within the first 3 months, AND earn 10% back at U.S. Restaurants for the first 6 months, up to $200 back in statement credits. Expires 05/03/2017. Referrer earns $100 (up to $550 per calendar year).
- EveryDay: 15,000 Membership Rewards points after they make $1,000 in purchases within the first 3 months. Expires 07/26/2017. Referrer earns 7,500 Membership Rewards points (up to 55,000 per calendar year).
- EveryDay Preferred: 20,000 Membership Rewards points after they make $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months. Expires 07/26/2017. Referrer earns 7,500 Membership Rewards points (up to 55,000 per calendar year).
- Gold Delta SkyMiles & Business: 40,000 SkyMiles after they make $1,000 in purchases within the first 3 months and a $50 statement credit after they make a Delta purchase within the first 3 months. Expires 03/29/2017. Referrer earns 5,000 SkyMiles (up to 55,000 per calendar year).

The Expected
- Enhanced Business Platinum: Up to 75,000 Membership Rewards points. They can earn 50,000 Membership Rewards points after they spend $10,000 and an extra 25,000 points after they spend an additional $10,000 all on qualifying purchases on the Business Platinum Card within the first 3 months. Expires 07/25/2018. Referrer earns 15,000 Membership Rewards points (up to 55,000 per calendar year).
- Starwood Preferred Guest: 25,000 SPG points after they make $3,000 (?) in purchases within the first 3 months. Expires 07/27/2017 (?). Referrer earns 5,000 SPG points (up to 55,000 per calendar year).
- Starwood Preferred Guest Business: 25,000 SPG points after they make $5,000 in purchases within the first 3 months. Expires 07/27/2017. Referrer earns 5,000 SPG points (up to 55,000 per calendar year).
I Don’t See My Personal Platinum / Another Card
If you don’t see your card as available for referral when you log in with your account & instead try to log in with your card information, American Express will pop up a dialog box with a link to their FAQ about what cards are eligible. Slightly condensed, the page states:
What Card Members are eligible for the Refer a Friend program?
At this time, the referral program is only available for Basic Consumer Card Members with the following Cards:
- Premier Rewards Gold
- Blue Cash Everyday & Preferred
- Starwood Preferred Guest & Starwood Preferred Guest Business
- Gold Delta SkyMiles &Â Gold Delta SkyMiles Business
- Platinum Delta SkyMiles &Â Platinum Delta SkyMiles Business
- Hilton HHonors & Hilton HHonors Surpass
- EveryDay & EveryDay Preferred
- Business Gold Rewards &Â Plum
Notably absent is the Enhanced Business Platinum, for which you can definitely generate a referral–it’s possible that that’s the sole exception, but there could be others.
