I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I have been getting assaulted by ads for a new product claiming 6% cash back on all purchases with no annual fees. The product offering is from Origins Lab, who from what I can tell haven’t raised any money from Venture Capital and have no backing bank currently.
You can’t actually apply for the product, but you can join the waitlist. 6% cash back on all purchases obviously isn’t sustainable. They claim they can offer the 6% rate because it’s “powered by a shared treasury connected to the growth of the AI economy”. They also claim that you will be helping train AI models to earn a proportional token share.
I’m not the smartest person in the room and have never claimed to be, but this product offering really doesn’t make any sense at all. I suspect they are advertising an outrageous value proposition to get people to join the waitlist and then will use the strength of the waitlist to try and raise money. The other thing I can see happening is that you earn cash back for helping to train the AI models and then basically have to use the debit card to withdraw the funds via spending. Either way this is an easy pass for me with too many red flags.
