Papa John’s Testing New Rewards Program

Papa John’s is currently testing a beta new spend based rewards program. Under the new program you receive 1 point per $1 spent and you can redeem 75 points for a $10 reward. Currently you earn one point for every $5 you spend and 25 points gets you a free pizza. Under the old program you would need to spend $125 to get a free pizza, under the new program you spend $75 and get a $10 reward. The better program would likely depend how expensive the free pizza you order is. It seems like the new program is invite only at this time.

I have 143 points….which will get me approx 6-7 pizzas….but under the new system, it would only get me about $30 in cash….that is a major rip off…unless I am missing something….my points should increase by a multiple of 5 to be fair!!!

They will multiply your points from the old rewards program by 5 and divide by 75. Nearest whole number will be the the amount of Papa Dollars u have (like a gift card). So 143 points will be 143 x 5 = 715 points. 715 / 9 is 90$ and 40/75 points as a remainder.

If they did not multiply your points by 5, contact their customer service. A few people reported this error.

Under the old program $25 spent would get u a $6 side, now you need to spend $75 to receive a $10 credit. How is that better?

It’s not. But if you redeem for pizzas and use promo codes, it’s vastly better. Old system required $125 in spending for a free pizza. Now you can spend $75 and use a promo code and get the free pizza. Even better, you can do things like this: Spend ~$15 in rewards under the new system to get two carryout 1-topping larges + free breadsticks by stacking promo codes.Takes only $108 in spending to earn enough reward dollars to do that under this new scheme.

I’m nervous like Terry, I have 79 points and would like to know how they will be converted over before joining the new system. I received an email and haven’t logged into my account yet so I guess I still have time to accept of decline the conversion offer

Don’t do it until you use up your points! I had 55 points and they only gave me 55 points on the new system. So all in all I lost out big time.

Edit:
I contacted them and got it corrected.

Not to nitpick, but the 25 points under the old system is for a large 3-topping pizza. You can always just use 20PAPA as a promo code for a 2-topping large that will set you back just 20 points.

20PAPA shows up as not valid for me.

It’s PAPA20, and apparently not all franchisees participate in it.

Has anybody been able to use 40off or 50off code with the converted dollars?

According to a few people on the Papa John’s Reddit, YES, the new rewards system does stack with percent-off codes.

I haven’t converted to the new system yet so I haven’t tried it myself. I have enough for a free pizza under the old system and I’m not sure if I should go ahead and use it before converting, or if I’d come out ahead by letting the points convert.

I accidentally declined the invite on the app and have not been offered it again. Frustrating…

I think that they pulled the invite. I didn’t decline, just never responded. Now the offer doesn’t show up.

I just opened my app and when I clicked on the rewards section it asked me to join the beta. When I did my points converted and a $10 reward balance was placed in my account. I was $6 away from a reward on the old program it shows it converted that to 95 points, gave me the $10 for 75 of those and now shows 20pts balance.

I like this new program better, this way I can club it with any other deal. This $10 works more like a gift card balance. It is almost always possible to get large specialty pizza for about 11-12.

If you wanna make pizza with too many toppings, get veggie and change everything as per your liking, there are 6 topping on it by default.

Atul, I agree with you that if this works like a gift card balance that it is a better deal. I guess that it surprises me somewhat that you can use both together. Can you use a promo code such as 40% off with the dollar balance? I got the invitation but was hesitant to accept it without knowing how it works because it looks like once you switch you are locked in and can’t go back if you don’t like it. I currently have 125 points and was wondering how it would convert to dollars in the new program. Could anybody who has switched share how their points converted to dollars.

I had 210 points and they gave me a $20 balance. 210-150= 60 remaining points, once I reach 75 points I will get the additional $10 added to my $20 rewards balance.

My account must have automatically changed to this. I downloaded the app a couple weeks ago and noticed a $10 reward. I used it on my order and just assumed they changed their rewards and didn’t think anything else about it.
