I’m fine with this, just don’t be hypocritical. Charge more for smoking, alcoholics, (don’t even get me started on the cost of a new liver) and drug users (yes, this includes weed), people with STD’s or other viral diseases like HIV, the grossly over-weight electric cart riding crowd, people who breed far, far too much (these are the types who are the true burden on the healthcare system). People who ride motorcycles, and charge even more if you don’t wear a helmet, own a car that goes over 100mph, no seatbelt. Take any prescription medications and have a history of going to the emergency room for every damn sniffle they have. Women who continue to stay in “abusive” relationships, men who have children with anything that lays on it’s back. Been in prison? You obviously are a danger to the public health and certainly should be charged more. Get the picture? Pretty deep rabbit hole.

Whether or not you choose to get vaccinated, considering that we now know that the COVID-19 vaccines do not prevent one from spreading the virus (they for symptomatic relief) these sorts of authoritarian mandates and things like vaccine passports make no sense. Vaccinated people can also get and spread the virus, the sole scientific argument now is that current COVID-19 vaccinations are to reduce chance of hospitalization/death for a period of time, which is usually a medical decision left to individuals (as with lots of life decisions). Cases are rising now even among the vaccinated at a faster rate after 350 million vaccine doses have been administered (around 5 billion globally) than when only a small fraction of that were vaccinated, specifically strains that are more resistant to the vaccine which have become predominate since initiation of the mass vaccination program. The mandates and passports were initially proposed at a time when they were suggesting that the vaccines stopped you from spreading the virus, which we now know is not the case. For argument’s sake, why don’t these same companies penalize people for being obese or mandate a BMI limit? Made this point in another post here regarding Krispy Kreme giving away free daily donuts to vaccinated people: The number one cause of death in the United States (and most of the developed world) is obesity. It is responsible for the deaths of millions every year and is the most significant contributor to health care costs and hospitalizations in the country. It is also the number one correlated comorbidity for COVID-19, with around 80% of hospitalizations related to COVID being in obese individuals. Obesity is also “contagious”, in that dietary and exercise habits having strong correlation among parents and children within a household (correlated not simply by genetics, but even among households of genetically unrelated individuals). Instead of encouraging people to lose weight and exercise, they want you to sit around at home scared and eating donuts, waiting for the government to come and save you. If you point any of this out on social media the looney tunes come out and say that you are “fat shaming”. This is the world we live in. Glad that comments below show that most people are not falling for the lunacy.

93 percent of current Covid hospitalizations are unvaccinated persons. That is all you need to know.

“93 percent of current Covid hospitalizations are unvaccinated persons. That is all you need to know.”

Yes, that is all you need to know because if you look at the whole picture you’ll see that healthy, non-obese people under 50 have almost no hospitalizations. If you knew that liberals would have no ground for virtue signaling and big pharma would stand to lose billions.

What exactly are you trying to say? The unhealthy, obese, and people over 50 are vaccinated at a much higher rate than the young and healthy, so you would expect a greater share of hospitalizations to come from the vaccinated. The fact that the numbers are so lopsided proves even more strongly that the vaccinations are actually performing unbelievably well.

Quit making the other side’s points for them, it’s boring.

Many companies have health screenings and charge more for health insurance premiums from those who score poorly, or they give incentives for healthy behaviors.

If you truly believe that vaccines are pointless and you choose not to get one then please do not go to the hospital if/when you contract covid. If you don’t want to believe the science that shows vaccination reduces spread and severity than don’t trust the science keep you alive when you’re satting at 70 and have to be vented. It’s that simple.

This is the TYPICAL way a company thanks you for constructive criticism. Lucky they did not shut down all his Citi accounts.

The problem with morons is that they don’t think they are morons and will fight back with everything if you start pointing out all the moronic things they do.

Matt Levine writes an amazing column for Bloomberg. If anyone likes reading about how backwards and meta finance is he does a great job. Free subscription too.

“People should not be allowed to fly unless they are vaccinated.” You are such a science denier. People should not be allowed to fly unless they’ve had their BOOSTER too. Quit telling me that the science deniers who only bothered to get two jabs should be allowed to infect the rest of us.

No it is related, because of the increase in demand. The vast majority of the population support the vaccine

“The vast majority of the population support the vaccine” – Actually no. 52% of the population is ‘fully vaccinated’… hardly a ‘vast majority’. In related news, those people will no longer full vaccinated after 6 months without another shot.

52% of the population, a population number that includes children under 12. As of August 3, 70% of adults had received at least their first shot (almost 61% fully vaccinated).

Vast majority was probably an overstatement but majority definitely.

No one expected the vaccine to last forever. Even while it was being developed, it wasn’t expected to prevent infection, but to prevent serious illness and death. That it did have prevention with the original virus was a bonus.

Really? Vast? In the USA?

Define vast.

I don’t understand what the unvaccinated Delta employees are complaining about. If they die from Covid they can always get a job at Spirit Airlines.
