On February 5th it was announced that DHS would be suspending Global Entry and other Trusted Traveler Programs in response sanctuary law. Readers have started to receive refunds marked as ‘USCUSTOMS TRUSTEDTRAVELER’. The Global Entry website states that the application fee is not refundable even if you’re not approved for the service, although in this case it’s good to see them refunding these fees. I guess it will be interesting to see how this refund is handled by credit card issuers that also offer a credit when applying for Global Entry.
Someone on the Amex RAT team just grinned.
What about a refund for everyone else since TSA Pre lines are never open due to “staffing shortages”?
First of all, that would make sense only for PreCheck members, since Global Entry and other programs have other benefits besides just PreCheck (and the Global Entry process relies on kiosks, not live people, so it’s not affected to the same degree by “staffing shortages”).
Second, the problem you described the TSA Pre lines not being open is not universal. I haven’t run into it yet myself. Which specific airports have you seen this “never open” problem at?
Amex is going to wait until the 4 years expire and then clawback the credit so they can ensure you can’t use it again
Don’t forget about cancelling all the customer’s credit cards. Or wait is that if they start taking their cues from Citi?
Ah, a refund for something you get a credit for anyway… still not as bad as the market tanking today.
The sun is shining bright in FL, With all this cheap gas I might fill the boat and go fishing!
Don’t say it please.
Fine. But we’re all thinking it.
