LOVE the credit in lieu of breakfast. Yeah, yeah, I know it’s not a ‘good value’ for many, but I’m no breakfast eater, so having a nice discount on lunch or dinner is terrific.

Me too, I just cant sit there and graze slowly in the am. I drink a coffee, eat a piece of fruit, and off I go. Lunch is much more useful to me.

The fixed dining credit is garbage when individual hotels control the pricing of their food items. This needs to be implemented as an either or system. There needs to be a free continental breakfast option provided to Gold members and above. The easiest way to do this, would be to price a continental breakfast option at exactly the same price as the credit given. A few pastries, a glass of juice, and a coffee would be fine at most lower end places, with the option of an up charge for a hot breakfast.

This is never going to happen though. Prepare for a bunch of $30-$40 breakfast buffets with mandatory service charges / gratuities added on top. You will be lucky if your “dining credit” ends up covering half the cost.

This is a real slap in the face to anyone who earned Hilton status by actually staying there. For the millions of gold members who got their status from a credit card, it was good while it lasted.

Blame Amex / Hilton for giving out status like candy.

As someone who has always used a $50/day Diamond meal credit (2 people) at high end Hiltons, it has worked well for me, especially with most stays being on free nights. The hotel always said it could be used for any meal, not just breakfast. I can see how a smaller credit would be more frustrating at lower level hotels but I would still see it as a bonus for a drink, appetizer, etc.

Waldorf Beverly Hills (majority of lunch cost), Waldorf Vegas (80% of cost: used in bar at night for light dinner and beverages), LXR Santa Monica (2021: 85% of cost: Full hot Breakfast each day delivered to room).

This is really unfortunate. I loved the breakfast at Doubletree – made the stay for two totally worth it. Now, i doubt I will get another hilton cc

So you love the Tree2 breakfast but only if it’s free? Weird, just weird.

Credit is also annoying because it’s one more ‘line item’ that shows up on the bill I have to explain/justify on expense reports. More paperwork for me equals more headache.

And they have failed to give me the credit at least 80% of the time. They always correct it when I contact them but it just adds another headache.

you can always ask them to split the credit and associated charges to a different sub-folio and pay any balance separately. keeps your main bill “clean” . A previous employer had a strict policy around what F&B could be claimed so I usually did this to make my expense reporting go smoother if I had dared to have a self funded adult beverage or two!!

Oh goodie. I look forward to spending my $15 on half a bagel when I used to get a full buffet breakfast as a Diamond. I’m done with Hilton after this year and won’t seek to maintain my Diamond status anymore.

I want my bacon, dammit!

$25 food credit, which TPG values at over $50!

Does it apply to only US based hotels?
