ShopBack Highlights
Direct Link to ShopBack (this link contains my referral code)
ShopBack is a cashback portal and extension – click through the portal or the extension and earn cashback on purchases at hundreds of retailers.
Here a few interesting offers that I see right now; these offers will change over time. You should be able to see many of the current boosted deals at this link.
- Amazon (portal link)- ShopBack is offering $1 back for each purchase on Amazon. Note, the terms exclude purchases paid with your Amazon gift card balance. For the Amazon cashback you need to click through the extension, whereas for other retailers you can click through the online portal without the extension. Note: ShopBack does insert their affiliate cookie on the Amazon purchase which will supersede any other affiliate you clicked from.
Walmart (portal link) – currently they are offering 20% back on Walmart purchases in select categories. Max $15 cashback.Doordash (portal link) – 10% back, up to $10 back on an order.Uber EATS – earn $4 on each order (not limited to first order like on other portals).
Referral Bonus $20 & More
ShopBack has a nice signup bonus of $20 for new members who sign up using a referral link. The $20 will reflect immediately in your ShopBack. Within 180 days, the new member has to earn $5 in Confirmed Cashback. The $20 referral bonus will then become available if you’ve confirmed your Paypal withdrawal details.
There’s also a $30 bonus for the referrer. After signing up, you’ll be able to find your referral link on this page.
If you ever wanted to buy me an expensive drink, here is my ShopBack referral link. Thanks. 🙂 (You’ll see the referral bonus reflected when clicking through the link. You can also go directly to Shopback.com and enter referral code 9f41g1 during signup and you’ll see the $20 signup bonus reflected that way as well.)
$5 Extension Bonus
I believe they also typically have a special offer for new members to get $5 for adding the Shopback browser extension and using it once. These offers vary, but keep a lookup on your Quests.
$6 Shipping Bonus
New users should also be able to get another $6 in bonuses with two $2.99 shipping rebates if you shop through the Shopback browser extension. You have to apply the rebate at checkout and then the cashback shows up in your account afterward. Some report getting those shipping rebates even when there was no shipping cost. YMMV. New users should see this shipping rebate offer on their Quests page. It only works at select retailers (including Walmart, Best Buy, eBay, Petco, Temu, DoorDash, Newegg and more), and only when using the extension. Easy-ish $5.98 in bonuses.
Quests Bonus
You can also get various other bonuses on Shopback by going to the Quests tab at the top of the page, or use this link. Be sure to ‘Join’ the Quests and then afterward ‘claim’ the bonus. You might be doing some of these activities anyway and these are easy additional bonuses.
Here are some of the Quests bonuses, these bonuses will change over time; I’ll leave these here just as examples:
- $10 bonus for shopping any 3 brands
- $20 on first purchase with a minimum spend of $10 or more
- $20 for spending $250 on travel brands
- For Ulta and Bed Bath & Beyond: shop $100 and get $10 (that’s on top of the regular portal rates)
Note: Quests are sometimes shown only to selected users, and they also have a quota which runs out; it can run out until you ‘Claim’ it so do that as soon as you can. Click on each Quests offer separately to find additional details and terms of the offer.
Cashout
ShopBack offers Paypal to cashout. $5 minimum required to cashout.

- Update 5/17/25: There’s a boosted cashback rate of 10% at Walmart, eBay, and DoorDash through May 19th. Cashback max is $10 per order.
- Update 5/13/25: a few interesting new Quests offers; remember you have to first ‘Join’ the offer and then afterwards ‘Claim’ the bonus: $10 with $200 purchase at any merchant, valid May 12 – May 19. $20 for $500 at Homedepot.com, valid May 12 – May 26. $10 for $150 at Shein, valid May 12 – May 26.
$3.99 with $100 Amazon purchase (plus the regular $1) – this is valid today only, May 13th. The $10 bonus at any merchant should be stackable with the other bonuses.Through May 19, new users can sign up with a referral link and get $20, see below. After signup you’ll probably have access to these Quests offers (though the Quests offers are sometimes targeted to some users and not others). - Update 5/7/25: A few interesting cashback rates this week: May 7-8 get 10% back at Walmart (capped at $10) and $4 per UberEATS order; May 9-11 get 15% back at eBay (capped at $10), 10% back at Giftcards.com (capped at $30), and 10% back at DoorDash (capped at $10). (You can combine these with the $20 signup bonus or potentially the $10 Quests bonus as well.)
- Update 5/1/25: The $20 signup bonus (when using a referral link) has been extended through 5/19/25.Â
- Update 4/28/25: There’s a new Quests bonus you can join and get $5 when spending $30+ at two merchants from 4/28 – 5/4.
- Update 4/21/25: The $20 signup bonus for signing up via a referral link has been extended through April 30th.
There is also a $10 Quests bonus for shopping at any 3 brands (and some other deals there as well) – these are for new members and existing members. - (Updated 4/8/25: Through April 11th, sign ups should be eligible for three bonuses: $20 referral link signup bonus, $20 first purchase Quests bonus, $10 with 3 purchases Quests bonus. Total $50 bonus on top of the regular cashback earn. More details below.)
- Update 4/7/25: Actually it appears that the ‘Quests’ for $20 back on your first purchase tracked for me separate than the initial signup bonus. And so I think this will be $55 for signing up and meeting a few requirements: $20 for signing up with a referral + $20 if you activate the Quest for first purchase and then claim it + $10 for making 3 purchases + $5 for first browser extension purchase. Note, some of these bonuses end tonight 4/7/25 11:59 PT.
- Update 4/6/25: A reader points out there are also Quests which you can do which will help you earn more (some of the things you’re probably doing anyway). It should add $15 on top of the $20 referral signup bonus; see details in the new Quests section, below. Be sure to ‘Join’ and opt into each Quests offer. If you already met the signup bonus requirement, you can still opt in and do these bonuses pretty easily for an added $15 for a few purchases and a browser extension added.
Our Verdict
This looks to be an easy $20 with the initial signup referral bonus if you can get $5 in cashback earnings (e.g. five Amazon purchases or any other merchant). And hopefully you’ll get a few Quests bonuses or other increased offers which can spruce up your earnings further.
Other than the initial signup bonuses, the portal can be useful for the $1 cashback earn on Amazon and for some of the other boosted cashback offers as well. Always compare rates against other shopping portals on Cashbackmonitor or another aggregator.
ShopBack has a Wikipedia page and has apparently been around since at least 2015. They seem to be an established company in other countries and are now expanding into the U.S. (We have no direct relationship with ShopBack.)
I only learned about ShopBack today and browsed around their site a bit. Overall the entire platform has a sleek and professional feel. I also like that the terms are spelled out clearly for each retailer. Hopefully this will be another useful shopping portal/extension. Feel free to chime in below with your experiences.
Anyone had any luck with the game achievements tracking? I managed to get one game install to track and tried playing to the first achievement and it won’t track. A couple of other games I downloaded don’t even track the install.
Purple or red zone? So far I have 2 games downloaded and tracking on purple zone on android phone. All achievements tracked except one purchase which shows tracked on adgem side but didn’t carry over to shopback. Been fighting them for abt a week trying to get it paid out. Customer service on both ends is horribly slow
best buy exclusions state: “Point of Sale Activation (POSA) Cards” — Gift Cards probably fall under this bucket?
Yes, they do.
Does purchasing a DoorDash gift card from Best Buy count for the 15% back? I don’t see any exclusions for gift cards.
Excludes “Point of Sale Activation (POSA) Cards”. I believe gift cards fall under that.
I purchased a GC yesterday on Amazon and the $1 CB already tracked within hours to ShopBack. That’s a lot quicker than it usually tracks with “real” purchases!
Which browser are you using to run the extension? I have tried on Chrome, Firefox, and Edge…. all with different tracking results. Chrome usually results in me having to contact customer support, and Firefox or Edge sometimes tracks with no issues. I’m having difficulty determining which browser is the best for reliability.
I have only used Chrome and most, if not all, of my purchases have tracked.
Is paypal the only way to withdraw?
yep
Yes, 15% eBay, and when I pay with gift cards they tell me I spent $0. No thank you, Cap1 and TCB don’t pull this shit.
The terms exclude cashback on gift card redemptions…
I know but it’s their excuse and that’s why I’m not gonna even try. I’m paying with GCs on eBay forever and always got the cb from TCB and Cap1 as well. Sometimes had to complain but never got this stupid response that I spent $0.
You did spend $0, technically
I can confirm not getting any cash back when paying (fully) with a gift card. Based on previous comments below by Ken, Arley, and Eric, I gave it a shot, but it wasn’t successful.
So everything else is now confirmed and withdrawable, all the bonuses, but my friend bonus still only says “tracked” even though I’ve earned more than $5 from cashback. Anyone else have this problem?
It took some time for my friend bonus to switch to confirmed. I can’t give you an exact timeline because I wasn’t paying close attention, but it definitely wasn’t instant. Maybe a few days later?
Similar to other commenters, my friend bonus took longer to switch to confirmed compared to other bonuses and purchase tracking. For me, I waited until it was able to be withdrawn along with the other money and I cannot remember if it gave an exact date. The friend bonus was able to be confirmed after waiting a few weeks and I had no problem withdrawing it along with the other earned and tracked money and bonuses. It was worth waiting because I wanted to use it as a data point since the other transactions confirmed so I hope this one would be as well. The total I withdrew including all bonuses, quests, and transactions was $45. The transactions I had to write to customer support were the Amazon ones because they did not immediately track even though I paid with credit card and met all requirements. I am happy to say that they all were changed to tracking correctly being confirmed/writing to customer support.
Quick and decent money maker but I would suggest proceeding carefully:
Play Tab -> Purple Zone -> Merge Restaurant
I played until level 5 (about 5-10 minutes) before purchasing anything to make certain that things were tracking properly The level tier tracked after about 10 minutes. I went on to do all of the gem purchases (I spaced each out a bit and only did the next one when the current one tracked). If I recall correctly they all tracked within 10-15 minutes of each except for the last one (spend 19.99 get 44.80) which took well over 24 hours. I’m thinking that one was held for a manual review being the fourth in a row and the biggest. Total spend was about 37+tax, received 98.56.
I then tried Cook and Merge which seems like the same game with the same spend offers but definitely reskinned and buggier. I stopped trying this one after the first purchase didn’t track at all (spend 1.99 get 8.96) despite the first task (complete Kate’s cafe) in the game successfully tracking once completed.
I think adgem is the offer wall that is responsible for tracking and paying out on these purple zone deals. I’ve read about them being very spotty in the swagbucks subreddit over the years and this most recent experience also suggests the same to me.
I don’t have merge restaurant.
By order I mean low to high, thanks
I doubt the purchase order matters but I couldn’t say for sure
where’s this “play tab?”
ah, its only in the app.
I am also having mixed results:
Merge restaurant: level 5 tracked, but 1.99 purchase has not (after 24 hours)
Cook and merge: Kate’s cafe tracked, haven’t purchased anything yet
Solitaire stash: First deposit tracked, winning 5 cash games has not (after 24 hours)
There’s a few more I want to try, but I’m only 50/50 with the purchases tracking :/
The 5 cash games for solitaire stash just tracked. I think one of the games I thought counted (bonus game with smaller buy in) did not count and I needed one more
I’m doing Coin Chef and it says make an in app purchase of $40 to earn $87.50 back. The only package I see is $39.99 will this work or would I need to purchase a higher cost one.
I ran into the same problem. I guess this is where it is be the data(datum) point you want to be. Let me know. I chickened out. 😀🤓
are game offers usually this lucrative or is it not worth looking
Got a Shopback email showing $4 at UberEats ending today, but when I click it it goes to the normal rate of $4 new UberEats user, 25¢ otherwise
