Frequentmiler reports that those who apply for the American Express Platinum card from March 26, 2026 and onward no longer get the $100 annual Saks Fifth Avenue credit.
I’m still seeing the $100 Saks benefit advertised on the AmEx Platinum application page – not sure how it’s possible they won’t honor that. In any case, it seems from the FM sourcing that the benefit is on its way out.
The benefit was introduced back in 2018, and is now being discontinued for new cardholders, apparently in light of the recent Saks struggles and store closures. It seems likely that the benefit will eventually disappear for existing Platinum cardholders as well, but for now it’s still valid.
Given the AmEx Platinum card recently added numerous benefits, I would not assume they’ll immediately add something else in place of the Saks benefit, but we can always hope for something.
