Update 10/29/25: Card has now launched, full details here
Update 9/28/25: FM found another landing page with more details:
- 2,500 Rapid Rewards point welcome bonus after you have two recurring deposits and spend $100 in the first 90 days
- Earn up to 7,500 bonus points per cardmember anniversary (rather than calendar year) based on your annual spend
- Earn 1 Rapid Rewards point per dollar on:
- Southwest Airlines purchases
- Dining
- Subscriptions
- Earn 1 Rapid Rewards point per $2 dollars on everything else
Original post: Southwest has a landing page for a new rewards debit card. The card will be issued by Sunrise Banks N.A., same partner who issues the Wyndham rewards debit card. We don’t have any details on what the rewards on the Southwest debit card will look like, but Wyndham offered the following:
- Sign up bonus of 2,500 points
- Card earns at the following rate:
- 1x points per $1 spent On eligible purchases made at participating Hotels by Wyndham and qualifying gas and grocery purchases.
- 1x points per $2 spent on all other purchases
- $6 Monthly Fee, waived if you have a $2,500 balance
- Complimentary Wyndham Rewards Gold status
- Anniversary bonus:
- Annual Net purchases of $5,000 to $9,999.99: 2,500 bonus points
- Annual Net purchases of $10,000 to $14,999.99: 5,000 bonus points
- Annual Net purchases of $15,000.00 or more: 7,500 bonus points
I’d actually expect the rewards to be worse on the Southwest card than the Wyndham card.
