During the latest Mastercard earnings call announced that as part of a renewed credit card partnership with Spirit airlines, a debit card would also be launched:
This quarter, we launched a new debit co brand card with Wyndham Rewards. And we renewed our credit co brand partnership with Spirit Airlines with an additional agreement to launch a new debit program with them in the future
I suspect we will see something similar to the Wyndham debit card.

After approval do you have to pay a fee for delivery?
The wyndham Debit was atrocious. Had it open for a month and the app is horrendous for what’s marketed towards a younger demographic. I ended up closing it. Probably one of the worst banking apps I’ve seen. Hopefully Spirit uses a different banking partner for theirs.
Very on-brand from Spirit Airlines to launch a debit card since most of their customers likely don’t qualify for credit.

A debit card is appropriate for the Spirit demographic, but the problem with the Wyndham card is needing to leave a balance so they can take advantage of high interest rates
