Our Verdict
These types of signup bonus offers are always interesting, especially since it retains the regular $200 bonus.
A big question to me is whether the double cashback will be eligible for the 75% boost for those with Platinum Honors relationship status. Typically signup bonuses (e.g. $200 bonus) are not subject to the 75% boost, but I’m not sure how it works with this type of percentage increase. I’ll play out the cashback rates for those with the 75% boost:
- Unlimited Cash Rewards:
- If boost applies to the bonus – 3.5% everywhere for one year, then 2.62% everywhere
- If boost does not apply to the bonus – 3.12% everywhere for one year, then 2.62% everywhere
- Customized Cash Rewards:
- If boost applies to the bonus – 10.5% on your chosen category, 3.5% on grocery/wholesale, 1.75% everywhere
- If boost does not apply to the bonus – 8.25% on your chosen category, 3.5% on grocery/wholesale, 1.75% everywhere
The 3.5%/3.12% rate everywhere for a year is very interesting (though some of us have the Smartly card with 4% everywhere). The 10.5%/8.25% is also excellent, albeit with the $2,500 quarterly limits.

I just got approved for this card 2 days ago!!! Does BofA match credit offers like this within 30 days? I believe Chase does….
originally is was stated as starting the 19th, so might be worth calling your local branch to check if you really want it
The 19th of May or June?
Considering several years ago (pre 2020) it was $200 for spending $500. And I saw someone else get a targeted offer of $300 for $1,000 spend less about four or five-ish months ago (after Christmas spending season). This is at least an improvement though less lucrative due to the spend for churners. Not too bad though. Discover though at $3,000 a year is ($400 [w/ $100 SUB] vs this offer of $380) plus that gets 10% so any amounts just around $3,000 a year or more spend Discover is better. At least both are churn-able still.
I’ve had the Customized Cash Rewards card tucked away for years. After they declined my Alaska card application, I’m officially done with them 😄
this is the double cash back deal for the whole year
I already have 3 Customized Cash Rewards cards. Will BofA let me get another? Haven’t applied for any cards from them for over 24 months.
I have more than 3 CCRs but I haven’t applied for any Bac cards in many years.
This seems to be a great deal for UCR but unless I’m missing something, it’s just ok for CCR because of the $2,500 cap. Whether you’re getting 6% or 3% it’s just a matter of earning faster, not more, assuming you hit the cap every quarter. Right?
No. The $2500 is the spend cap per quarter for the 6%. 6% of $2500 is always higher than 3% of $2500 no matter how you slice it.
Duh! I confused spend cap v. earn cap. Thanks! Yes, great deal.
Will BofA Match this for people who just signed up for the card?
I know chase used to match higher sign up bonuses.
Wow…wonder if it will extend to affinity cards too…
That’s pretty insane regardless of how they apply the bonus. Too bad the SUBs are this low. Need this for Premium Rewards.
