Others are seeing different variations, such as a $25,000 spend requirement instead of a $6,000 spend requirement.
The Fine Print
- Points count towards companion pass
- To be eligible for this bonus offer, you must register between 10/1/2020 and 1/31/2021 11:59 p.m. ET. You will qualify for a 30% bonus on Rapid Rewards® points, up to 25,000 points, after you use your Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card to make at least $6,000 of Purchases during the promotion period of 10/1/20-1/31/21 (“Promotion Period”). The 30% bonus is in addition to the points you already earn with your card. The 30% bonus points will count towards Companion Pass® qualification, but will not count toward A-List or A-List Preferred qualification. Please allow up to 8 weeks after the end of the Promotion Period for the 30% bonus points to post to your Southwest Rapid Rewards account. Maximum bonus point accumulation from credit card spend during the Promotion Period is 25,000 bonus points per Rapid Rewards account. “Purchases” do not include balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, or fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable. Points transferred from Chase Ultimate Rewards to Southwest Rapid Rewards are not eligible for the 30% bonus. Points and bonus points earned on a new Rapid Rewards Credit Card account opening are not eligible for the 30% bonus. Only the Rapid Rewards Member who received this offer from Southwest Airlines® is eligible for this promotion. Offer is nontransferable. Our Verdict
30% is a nice bump. There’s a somewhat similar offer ongoing through October to get a 30% bonus when having 6,000 points post to your account. The offer presented in this post is for $6,000 in spend on the card.
