The Offer

  • SPG have been sending out targeted e-mails to their loyalty customers with the e-mail subject field of “A few simple taps to 1K Starpoints”. You can get 1,000 free SPG points by doing the following:
    • Download the SPG app
    • Register for SPG Keyless (home screen then SPG Keyless Registration)

The Fine Print

  • This promotion is not transferable.
  • Bonus Starpoints will be credited to the member’s account within 2–4 weeks of the Keyless registration posting to the member’s Starwood Preferred Guest account

Our Verdict

If you received this e-mail, completing it should be a no brainer. 1,000 free SPG points is quite a nice bonus and nothing to sneeze at.

In the app I get a “Device Not Supported” message when I choose SPG Keyless. Guess I am out of luck with regard to these points, eh?

I just downloaded the app. No keyless registration option on the Home screen. It appears the phone was already registered, although I never did so. I am wondering if the app automatically registered the phone from which it was downloaded….

Will track it to be sure the 1000 points do get credited.
