If you plan on stacking this promo in combination with one of Amazon’s partnering ‘Add your AMEX, Discover, etc. card for a $/% discount’ promos then try activating this $5 ‘Add any debit/credit card’ promo first. I’ve noticed that Amazon will sometimes remove this offer (removes the big yellow banner ‘Add your card’ button) if I add & activate one of the specific Amex, Discover, etc. offers first.

This hasn’t happened most of the time, but I definitely have had it happen to me a few times before.

The link worked for me, amazon accepted my debit card details, said it added a $5 instant credit but I can’t find it anywhere in my account, not in wallet or Gift balances etc. Wasted enough time on $5 …

normally you can’t see the promotional credits. But when you try to checkout items that are sold and shipped by Amazon then you will see the discount on your checkout.

Thanks,
I suspected something like that might be the answer because I got an amazon email said ‘The $5 promotional credit is immediately available on your Amazon account and will automatically be applied at checkout’. But it’s invisible beforehand.

This is actually one of the few promos that allow 3rd party items to be discounted also, and to be stacked with one of the partnering cc discount promos.

The credit may be redeemed on the purchase of physical products sold and shipped by Amazon.com or products sold by third-party sellers or other Amazon entities which qualify for this offer. Offer excludes certain Digital content and products, including but not limited to Alexa, Fire, and Kindle products/devices, Gift Cards, Alexa Skills, Cloud drive and paid subscriptions such as Prime, Kindle Unlimited, Free Time Unlimited, Comixology Unlimited and Personal Shopper services.

Well, the $5 applies to third party sellers as well. So I bought some trash from China with free shipping.
If you cancel / return, you won’t get any credit back. This $5 is actually a coupon which even works on less then $5.

Link shows eligible.

Added card: Unfortunately, the card you added does not qualify for the $5 promotional credit. This offer does not apply to prepaid cards.

Added another card: Unfortunately, the card you added does not qualify for the $5 promotional credit. It looks like you have already claimed this offer.

No credit received.

Use a virtual card which is not known to amazon before. You should be OK.
