It didn’t work for my account, just my partner’s.
When I checked the product with his account, they advertised the discount on the page with “Use code ECHOXBX at checkout to redeem your offer for $4.99 for one Echo Dot (3rd Gen)” – I guess this is an easy way to check if you are eligible right away…
