Pretty much. You can stream audio over Bluetooth though. Gonna keep it beside my computer.

Had and retired echos in the past. No surprise that they listen to everything with or without being asked to ( but so does your phone anyways) . Great as a gifts for older folks and kids imo for basic things at 6.99 if eligible
