How easy is it to redeem the shop your way rewards points if I apply for this card today? Can they only be redeemed for gift cards or Sears purchases?

FN The SYW points can be redeemed at Sears and Kmart, or for various gift cards on their portal. It’s easy to redeemfor GC on their website, and you can just scan a barcode to redeem in store if you actually have a store nearby still. Don’t think there’s any way to transfer them somewhere else or get straight cash out of them. The main reason I use the card is for the statement credits from these bonus promo offers I keep getting from them which more than make up for it IMO.

Thanks Chris. I get similar promos for the Best Buy credit card (not for statement credit) and while you can bank points after you reach a level for the most part, they often give you reward certificates which have an expiration, and can’t be used on GCs, which make them annoying.

Is the redemption value for the SYW points when used for GCs like 1cpp or equivalent?

FN Yeah, the 5x/3x bonus categories for gas/food actually give 50/30 points per dollar, and when you redeem 10 points they are equal to 1 cent.

Got 10% on Warehouse Club and Drug Stores, max $55. Not as good as previous offers like 20% on online purchases but I’ll take it. Should be easy to hit the minimum spend with Costco gift cards online.
