Multiple Reddit members report (1, 2, 3, 4) getting a spend offer from Discover to get an extra 3% cashback on up to $1,500 of spend within the next 6 months. Others are getting a higher limit of $2,500. These offers were received when specifically asking for them via chat – they are not sent out automatically.
Not a bad deal: with 3% + 1% regular cashback, you’ll end up earning 4% rewards on $1,500 which is a nice little deal. Even better would be to spend $1,500 on PayPal and restaurants 5% quarterly category and end up with 8% back (5% + 3%).
Others are getting 2%. Others are being offered a 0% APR deal as well. Typically, once these things start going around Discover starts getting sick of it and they stop making the offer, so this might not last long.
