- American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa Purchase Volume Up 7.8% in 2015 by The Nilsen Report. Bit surprised that Discover only added 600,000 new cardholders in 2015, they released the Discover it Miles card and also had strong promotions with double cash back and their apple pay tie in (really goes to show you that we are outliers in this industry). I’d think they’d be able to add strong numbers with the direct link application to their Discover it Secured card now (best in the industry IMO).
- Amex Churning: The One (Targeted) Way to Avoid the “One Bonus Per Lifetime” Rule by Miles to Memories. Glad to see this happening more on personal cards as well. It’s not always bad news in this hobby, despite what some people say.
- Best Hotel Rewards Program – An infographic by Travel is Free. Really awesome graphic and way easier to compare the different hotel programs (especially for visual people).
- Turnover Tuesdays – Sourcing From Slickdeals Works But Everybody Else Is Doing It Too by Oren’s Money Saver. Holding inventory waiting for a better price can be a really good tactic (I often do it for certain gift cards), main thing that can burn you is when the product/gift card isn’t popular enough or they go on sale again.
- US Bank FlexPerks $25 Airline Allowance Reimbursement Process & Timeline by Travel With Grant. Nice little run through and comments are interesting to boot!
funny thing is and then they email me that they raised my credit limit, as if maybe thats the reason i stopped using them
well they didnt honor their promo so we all dumped them maybe??
trust is a big deal when it comes to money,i have 2x citi double cash, arrival +, so many options and more acceptance then discover, so discover is done for me personally
How on earth is it possible that Discover lost so much in purchase volume after all these promotions and actually be the only one in the negative?
Disappointed to see Discover losing market share, their card and rewards are excellent
