How good this deal is really depends on how easy you find it to purchase these with a credit card and how easily you can unload the small denomination gift cards. At worse, this will cover the fee on these cards and then some. Make sure you use a card that earns at a high rate on grocery store purchases, should also stack with the American Express grocery store offer.
