Boxed.com 20% Off (+ Spend $65, Get $25 AmEx Offer) Includes Gift Cards – Save 50%+

JUSTFORHIM EXPIRED but SUMMER20 works.

There is a new code now “JUSTFORHIM” expires 7/17.

The Offer

  • Boxed.com is offering 20% off your entire purchase when you use promo code SUMMER20

The Fine Print

  • Valid until July 17th

Our Verdict

New users can get $15 off their first purchase (share and use referral links here). You can’t stack the JUSTFORHIM & referral bonus, others did get them to stack so YMMV. There is also an Amex offer for spending $65 and getting $25 back. Boxed does sell gift cards but stock is basically nothing at the moment, this code does work on those purchases. You’ll want to spend ~$82 to trigger the American Express offer if you’re using the 20% off code, you’d end up paying $40 so works out to be a discount of more than 50%. You do even better on your first purchase and better again when you add a shopping portal offering 8% cash back (keep in mind portals exclude promo codes but still worth trying). Should also be able to go through Ibotta.

I think this is a decent detail if you shop carefully. I noticed that the value of any discounts is diluted by the fact that Boxed.com prices are among the highest I’ve seen among their retail competitors.

Does anyone know if the AmEx credit will work on Boxed hotel bookings? I just tried a booking but AmEx didn’t send me the same email confirming the offer that I got when earlier buying product from Boxed on another registered AmEx card.

Hotel bookings are powered by hotelstorm and not Boxed.

Thanks for the heads up on the boxed sale. Any time they have a coupon, it means I can order express and skip dragging the babies to Costco for another week.

If we buy today, will it post in time? What if the payment actually posts tomorrow, would I be ineligible to get the $25 back even though I purchased today?

Seems pretty iffy if the credit doesn’t autopost, Amex could refuse to provide a credit through customer service since the terms explicitly indicate date of charge when shipped. I’m a bit worried about my own order a couple of days ago that’s still stuck in Processing status like a couple of people mentioned above. Got the email from Amex, but it also mentions ‘eligible’ purchase, so could be an issue if Boxed doesn’t post the charge today.

if so, a manual credit via chat with a rep did it for me

From my experience with Amex, the credit is auto triggered on the day of the purchase. It doesn’t matter when it’s posted or shipped.

Ibotta paid but it’s only 10% on the first order, after that it’s 2%

Pssst. Gift cards are back in stock. It won’t turn a huge profit, but there is resale value there for sure.

TCB tracked when stacking with justforhim. Don’t know if it would post though

I moved away from TCB as getting credit is like shooting in dark. Its not immediate credit as it was before. I go with EBate even if its 1/2 of TCB; as EBate post credit immediately. No guess work required.
