Cardpool Officially Removed From Portals for Sell Transactions

We’ve lamented the tracking problems related to Cardpool sell transactions. Topcashback and Befrugal used to offer 4% back on the first $1000 in sell transactions. It was a really great way to rack up an additional 4% of the sale…if only it would track.

Now they’ve officially removed the sell category from being eligible for portal cashback. You can still earn 2% cashback on purchases of gift cards from Cardpool, until there was $1000 in transactions in your Cardpool account.

Note that this $1000 is still apparently combined between your buy and sell transactions. So if you are a Cardpool seller, you won’t be able to get the 2% back on your first $1000 in transactions. Also note that the portals still won’t accept Missing Cashback Claims for Cardpool.

Interestingly, Shopathome and Simplybestcoupons are still showing their 2% rate for sell transactions; this is likely an update time lag. The other possibility is that Topcashback and Befrugal independently decided to remove the sell category due to tracking issues.

Ultimately, there’s no major loss here since most weren’t having success with the portal tracking anyway. From their end, it does make sense to just remove the category rather than face disgruntled customers. Hopefully, the buy transactions track better than the sell transactions did.

Chuck,

I wrote in another post on this site that TCB specifically told me that they removed it because of the issue that I brought to their attention about no one receiving cash back on sell orders. I’m guessing someone else complained to BeFrugal and that’s why they removed it.

Just learn from the mistakes. I used to hate TCB, but once i understood what retailers to use with, CB has always been a breeze.

Purchased gift cards I have no problem getting tracked from TCB but I posted 5 different sells on raise.com to take advantage of the $10 promotion and all of them failed to track. I have missing claims open on them.

Now we take on National Rent a Car… that has never tracked for me ever. Avis, same problem. Remove them, TCB!

Yes rental car companies are a joke for cashback. It has to do with verifying the finalization of the sale but even when I prepay Avis it doesn’t track. Lame.
