According to a source at Citizens Bank they will begin offering credit card holders a free Equifax FICO score through their online credit card portal on March 9th, 2016. The online portal is run by TSYS and it’s possible that other issuers using TSYS might offer similar free scores, but at the moment this isn’t clear. We also aren’t sure what version of the Equifax FICO score they will offer, but most likely the classic 2008 model.
Most of the larger credit card issuers now offer a free FICO score and Citi, Huntington Bank, PenFed all offer free Equifax FICO scores as well. That being said it’s still nice to see more card issuers offering this as a benefit.
Citizens Bank doesn’t really offer any credit cards of interest anymore, the best one they offer is the Citizens Bank Cash Back Plus World MasterCard, with a maximum of 1.8% cash back on all purchases. Given that there are multiple cards that earn 2% back on all purchases, this isn’t really of interest. They did use to offer a 5% back card and another card that earned 25¢ on all purchases.
