Our Verdict
We posted about this deal earlier, but you needed to create a dummy booking. You can read our verdict in this post.
Thanks goes to reader ccnewbie for finding the link.
Link seems dead.
Loads for me and then says system unavailable, hopefully temporary.
There’s now a better offer: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/alaska-airlines-30000-miles-100-statement-credit-free-companion-pass-offer/
I got approved for Alaska Airline card but they gave me an credit limit of 2500 which makes it platinum instead of signature. It seems the signup offer of 30,000 points + $100 statment credit is for the signature card. I told BoA rep to make it signature by transferring my CL from my BoA Travel card. They denied and told for signature card I need to be approved with more than $5000 CL. The signup bonus for platinum is abysmal. Could you guys suggest how can I proceed to get signature signup bonus? Thanks
What is the status of downgrading this car to a Bank of Americard Better Balance card or another no AF card?
Question: can the companion fare be used everytime I take a flight on Alaska Airlines, or is it only usable once a year?
One companion pass per year.
Argh, approved for $3K. They always stick me with the Platinum card. Always have to call in to try to get them to increase the credit line.
How’s your credit score?
770. Haven’t had issues with other banks, only BofA. Really the biggest issue has been with this specific card, I’ve been able to get others at BofA though with less success than most banks.
I don’t have any BoA cards and was thinking about applying to both the 30k and 25k offers in the same day. Seems like there are limited DPs regarding multiple apps since the new link was released. Any thoughts/advice on whether this is worth a shot?
I applied for the 25K card last week, and called to ask them to match it, and they said they would not. They also said to instead apply for the 30K card. But I betcha if I actually did that, I’d get declined.
I just called asking the same question. I am going to call a couple for times until i get the answer i am looking for.
I got a letter in the mail telling me they would not match after just getting the 25K card last month. I called and was also told to apply for the 30K card. I applied and got an immediate approval.
BoA lets you have multiple Alaska cards, go for it.
can you apply for this offer and the 25k offer at the same time?
Or maybe it’s better to apply for this offer and the 25k business card offer?
Never applied for BofA card so not familiar with their rules.
Thanks!
If you have had a lot of inquiries lately, id avoid BoA cards all together. They are the only bank that has ever declined me. They do not budge either.
Thx for this news flash – got approved for $17k last night (and combined BoA same-day pull w/Better Balance card, also approved for $8k). Recently got the Virgin America card in hopes of eventual product convert to Alaska card (maybe with bonus offer, who knows?) post-merger of Alaska-Virgin America. I’ll get tons of use as a West Coast flyer.
