[Expired] eBay: Purchase $100 Staples Giftcard, Get $15 eBay Giftcard (Limit Of 5, Earns 5x)

This deal has expired and is no longer valid.

The Offer

Direct link to offer (our affiliate link, thanks for supporting the site. We don’t earn anything on gift card purchases and AFAIK no portals earn anything on eBay gift card purchases).

  • eBay has $100 Staples gift cards with a bonus $15 eBay code for $100, sold by PayPal Digital Gifts. Limit of 5 per person

Our Verdict

Purchases through PayPal digital gifts earn 5x Chase Ultimate Rewards points with the Chase Ink Plus/Cash cards. Public resale rate for Staples giftcards is 85% & 80% for eBay so no real resale value here but could be very useful for regular purchases. I imagine this will sell out quite quickly. If you have any questions, they are probably answered in our post ‘34 Things to Know about eBay and Paypal‘.

I received my Staples cards, but not eBay ones. Anyone else have this problem?

They come the next day. I bought on Tuesday and got my eBay card on Wednesday.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I bought these and flipped the Staples gift cards to Cardcash via their Amazon portal for $93.50 each. I’ll either flip the Ebay GCs too or just spend them organically. Overall profit about 5% + credit card rewards. Not bad since I’ll spend the Amazon GC within a few months anyway.

I cannot buy 5 cards. By using payal, It told me “Sorry, this payment option isn’t available. Here are your options:
Contact PayPal customer service to resolve this issue.

So I changed the amount to 1, it worked.
But when I want buy one more, it failed.
Any same case?

can you use staples gift card to buy other gift cards at Staples, whether in store or online?

Definitely not online.

In-store it’s YMMV… the register will take it but the cashiers are supposed not to. some don’t care… but there are not many of them.

In no sales tax states you could wait for the inevitable 1 cent/ $1 paper deals and cash out that way. I’ve been using that for rewards when possible and donating the paper to my local school.

Anyone know if you can still get the Visa Checkout $25 off if you pay part of the order with these staples gift card? If so, does the remaining charge have to be over $100, or is it enough that the original, total price (including that covered by GCs) is over $100. Thanks!

Yes, you can and it is based on total price. Use any coupons or rewards first, then the Visa Checkout, then apply your gift cards. As long as you pay something on Visa Checkout you get the deal.

Are you certain?

This not how it worked in the past. You had to have $100 before tax left for Visa check-out to get $25 off.
