Free Night From Club Carlson For Credit Card Holders/Club Carlson Free Night Certificate Is Valid Worldwide?

Update: It also possible that this isn’t tied to the annual free night after $10,000 in spend, as people with no spend are reporting receiving this free night certificate as well. Please share your data points in the comments below (e.g when your annual fee is due and how much spend you’ve put on the card).

When Club Carlson removed the last night free benefit on the US Bank credit card, they also added a new benefit. It is supposed to be as follows:

If you spend $10,000 or more in a card member year you’ll receive a free night award after the renewal of your card. The free night award was supposed to be only valid on properties in the United States, but @Tym2Trvl received the following mail out that says it can be used at all properties worldwide.

us bank club carlson worldwide

It’s generally agreed that most of the properties in the United States are lackluster, with the properties in Europe being much more appealing. There is always a chance that the marketing mail out contained the wrong information and the e-certificate will only work on properties based in the U.S but if you receive this mail out you would have a very strong case for getting this over turned.

Got the free night email a few days ago. Haven’t used the card in months, but had two two-night stays back in May and June with the old last-night-free promo.

I’ve been a card holder for 18 months, have paid the annual fee and put some spend on the card and I didn’t receive the letter in the mail or via email. I’ve also checked my Club Carlson account and nothing there. I will likely be following up with USBank and Club Carlson.

Was told by customer service representative with US Bank that only ~3,700 card holders were selected by Club Carlson to receive this promotion…

I never received the letter in the mail (might be because I recently moved and my address was not updated until recently) but just got the certificate in my email! yay Annual fee not due until early next year, put the spending for the min requirements and then used it every now and then but not much, maybe $500

I only spent $682 in the preceding year so I don’t believe this is tied to any annual spend promotion either.

Did anyone with the non-Premier version get the certificate? I received it on my Premier card and I saw reports that those with the $0 fee card also received it. But my wife did not receive certificate on her normal CC Rewards (non-signature card with $50 annual fee).

I have had the card for 17 months. Stopped spending on it in the spring when the “no last night free” announcement was made. Put it in sock drawer. Annual fee due in the spring sometime. Probably $4,000 spend in 2015. I got the letter with free night.

Hubby signed up for the card in spring 2 weeks before they made the “no last night…” announcement. We spent enough to get his bonus points, booked the nights we wanted before end of May and put the card in sock drawer. He also got a certificate.

Zero activity on our cards for 4 months now.

My husband has the card, paid the renewal fee in Mar of this year, and he hasn’t received any unexpected bonus points or any letters offering a free night. The only mail he ever receives is the bonus 1 extra point offer on spend for a couple months that he has to activate. Bogus.

How many other USB CC card holders have NOT received this offer? I feel like I am the only one, maybe because others who have not received it are not posting.

Perhaps something called the US Mail is not that efficient and you have not received yours as yet?

Stop being an impatient baby and wait a week and then complain if you don’t receive a letter.

My thoughts are that unlike you, those who have not received the letter are not posting because they have a bit more self-control than you do and are seeing how things play out.
