- Bank of America/FIA WorldPoints Mall Ending in March 2015 by Out and Out. Never used this mall myself, but it seems like it was sometimes offering the highest rate. I personally just use topcashback for this type of stuff, although I’ve had problems with them recently so maybe I’ll reconsider.
- Another Smart Card: Swyp by Frugal Hack Me. By the time this card ships, the fraud liability shift will have happened and most merchants and card issuers will be using EMV chips, given that this card isn’t EMV compatible it’s basically useless.
- TransUnion Mobile App Locks and Unlocks Your Credit Instantly by Maximizing Money. If credit bureaus have the ability to turn freezes on and off this easily, it should be made available to all consumers. It’s ridiculous that credit bureaus are able to make any profit off consumers directly, when they are just selling personal information.
- American Will Now Waive Telephone Fees for Awards You Can’t Book Online by View From The Wing. I’d really prefer if they just made it easier to book complicated itineraries online. The less time I spend dealing with phone reps, the better.

Not only does Experian charge $4.95 to unlock, they also limit the number of times you can request a free single-use PIN online, after a few they demand a written request.
Too bad TU is the one I want to keep open and cc issuers use!
I feel like I’m the only person who read the SWYP faq’s from their page.
“The SWYP hardware platform will be EMV ready. The functionality will be enabled via an over the air firmware upgrade when the US market makes a definitive transition to EMV.”
I have a referral code somewhere for anyone that may be interested now. 🙂
TBH I just read the frugal hack me post, I didn’t do much research into swyp itself as I think univeral cards are a bad idea to begin with.
I just like the idea of carrying my favorite ten cards and maybe a disguised agc or vgc now and then without a George Costanza wallet…
You comment about the freeze and unfreeze should be free and easy (I agree) The bureaus have alot of political clout with lawmakers. However due to identify fraud and such this not can be seen as an idea that makes sense.
It’s completely ridiculous how much political power the big three have, it’s been shown that they take way too long to remove incorrect information and in some cases do not it until legal action has been taken. I really wish some of the laws that targeted these bureaus were actually enforced.
Thanks for posting this about the gift card change to $2000. This definitely has an effect on me when I use these for business. I was working on an order today for TCB so this information is valuable.
