Get Paid To Walk, Buses Vs Planes, Delta Decisions, Free $450 Chase Coupons & More

  • Am I done with Delta? by Frequent Miler. I think some of this has to do with him being a Delta captive (e.g close to a Delta hub). My biggest problem with Delta is that there is no transparency with what their future plans are. I feel like they could make changes to their loyalty program at any time. When they do make changes they are abrupt and are poorly communicated to the frequent flyer community. It’s easy to say that it’s not that big of a deal when you’re getting your miles for “free”, but it’s not a good way to treat customers.
  • These Are My Go To Cards When Testing A Purchase by Chasing The Points. The more people testing new things the better. Don’t wait for other people to find stuff, try to find it yourself. Then you get the added benefit of deciding how and who you share that information with (if you wanna see it on this blog, you can always contact me).
  • Is Traveling on United Airlines Better than Greyhound? by Tagging Miles. If I can get somewhere within 3 hours by car, I’ll rarely fly. By the time you get to the airport, go through security and then get back into downtown on the other end it’s rarely worth the extra cost. I actually get a lot of work done on buses (free power & WiFi). I find Megabus to be a better option than Greyhound in most cases, and Travel is Free also has this interesting article on Megabus “I’m not too cool to rock $1 Megabus tickets“. The next time you take a short haul flight, calculate when you leave your house and when you reach your destination – I bet it takes you a lot longer than you think. You might have been better off (time, cost & comfort wise) taking a bus.
  • Giveaway: 4 $450 Chase Checking and Savings Account Sign Up Bonus Coupons by Travel With Grant. In case you didn’t already know Grant is now on the Boarding Area homepage. Really nice guy and with good content, he deserves the promotion and I hope he does well. If you don’t win one of his coupons, you can always view the best ones currently available here. If you ever receive something like this and don’t want to use it, feel free to get in touch and I’ll give it away on this site as well.
  • How to Make Money on Your FitBit (Or Other Activity Tracker) by Penny Pinchin Mom. Nice list, bit heavy on the ads and I hate left sidebar websites, but that’s a personal gripe. I got a FitBit for Christmas and some of you might have one from this TD Bank deal. I wish there was a bit more analysis on each option (e.g how much you’ll make per mile tracked) but still a handy reference resource. I probably run at least 28 miles a week, so that’s $10 in Shop At Home cash back.
