Gyft.com sells instant-issue electronic gift cards for popular retailers like eBay, Amazon, Best Buy, and many more. They also have a store rewards program called Gyft Points which offers rewards on anything you buy. These rewards can be used toward the next purchase.
Previously, whether paying with credit card or with Paypal the rewards were 2% (Bitcoin gets 3%). They’ve now changed this, and only Paypal gets 2% while direct credit card payments get 1%.
If Paypal isn’t working for you, better go through the portal for 2% back instead. They don’t allow getting both Gyft Points and portal cashback.

Why are folks so excited by this company? I can’t even get it to place a simple $45 order.
You start with verifying e-mail, then go to place an order and they want your phone number so they can SMS you. You verify that, and then they want to link to your facebook profile. You unwittingly link that thinking you will be able to place the order then, and then they want you to scan your passport or drivers license and send it to them. Meanwhile they’re authorizing the charge ‘each time’ that you try… and all this for $45 charge? You write customer service and they claim it’s your fault that your payment isn’t working, but, of course that’s a lie because you can see that they have authorized your card multiple times, and the charge was clearly approved.
I gave up with these idiots — way too much effort in order to save $5 here or there on a gift card.
Yea, they are a hassle. Just an instant way of purchasing gift cards, at a 2% discount.
Sure… assuming of course you can even place the order. By the time they’re asking for my passport, and this is after giving and verifying all the other requested information, which they ask for 1 at a time (as opposed to simply displaying and itemizing what is required all at once), I drew the line in the sand there. You verify that, and next thing they’ll be asking is SSN and then after that mothers maiden name. No $5 savings is worth this risk.
Other bad news… reviewing last month’s statement… Gyft no longer codes as 5% for Ink.
Nvm, I messed up. Had to go through PayPal with Ink which I did not. That didn’t code as 5% of course.
Are there any discount GC companies, besides Gyft, that you can get a GC code immediately after payment? Also, if I use my Citi DC card through PayPal will I get 2% back from Citi and 2% back from Gyft?
