Public Enrollment Page for Bank of America Free FICO Score

Bank of America offers a Transunion FICO score for their cardholders, and there’s now a public landing page to signup for the free benefit.

A couple of weeks ago, some of us started seeing the free FICO benefit show up as an option in the BofA online login; there’s now a public enrollment link for everyone to use to enroll. You might also see the enrollment option on the home page of bankofamerica.com.

In the previous post we wrote some additional details. Briefly, this is the Transunion FICO8 score and you do need to enroll in order to get the benefit (i.e. it won’t show up in your account automatically).

A few  points:

  • Only consumer credit cards from Bank of America are eligible for the benefit
  • Only valid for US cardholders
  • If you also have an international address on your BofA account, you may have some trouble registering; remove the international address and it should work (Slickdeals)

Still seems to be having problems, I see:

There was a problem processing your request.
You must have a consumer credit card issued by Bank of America to get your FICO® Score for free.

despite having been a customer since 1994 and two (BofA branded) credit cards that show up in my online account. As a side note, I have a foreign address, so it could be they’re denying FICO scores for non-US residents.

Does product change result in hard pull. I recently changed my card from one type to other.

They said it would be soft pull. But I have fraud alert on my report and they have to call me before they issue a card. But that had only happened for a new credit request.

Now I am wondering if they did hard or soft pull. Don’t trust B of A.

Called them again. They said product change was soft pull but moving credit lines around is a hard pull. BofA is weird.
