How about buying $5000/month of actual groceries and then immediately donate the goods for the full market value?

I know the IRS has special rules for large donations of non-cash items, but still…it might be a very legit way to MS without it looking like MS

If the bank asks, you can even show then the donation receipts!

I should clarify…not MS exactly, but maybe do it if needed to strategically lower your tax bracket.

yeah, which probably only makes sense to do if you’re at the edge of a bracket and trying to donate your way to the lower one

This makes no sense… It’s marginal. And if you are talking about credits and benefits, there is a reason why they have phase out ranges and not hard cutoffs.

I honestly don’t think people will have a problem with the Atitude Reserve unless they MS high volume like 15k+ a month and at obvious grocery/hardware stores. Anyone should throw up a red flag when you’re spending $5,000 a week at Fred Meyer. Ain’t nobody got time to eat that much food!!!

Good writeup by FM. The allure of the Altitude is the 3x. I truly do not think US Bank has any idea how much MS the pros do. Hope they have a good PR team.

Doesn’t matter how much people do on other cards. They’re going to get shut down quickly pushing it on this one.
