[Targeted] eBay Offering 4x eBay Bucks (~8% Back) Until September 10th

The Offer

  • eBay has sent out a targeted promotion where you can earn up to eBay bucks:
    • 2x eBay bucks on any item
    • 3x eBay bucks on items $50+
    • 4x eBay bucks on items $100+

ebay bucks 4x

The Fine Print

  • Valid from September 9th, 8AM to September 10th, 11:59PM PT
  • Targeted offer, must receive the e-mail and activate it first
  • 4x Ebay Bucks is equivalent to 8% back in Ebay Credit, which to some is as good as cash.
  • Ebay Bucks are NOT earned on Ebay Branded Gift Cards

Our Verdict

These deals are fantastic because they turn profitable deals into super profitable deals and non profitable deals into profitable deals. If you start with the fact that you’re getting 8% back in eBay credit from the eBay bucks deal and then add in another 5% back when you purchase your eBay gift cards at a deep discount and a further 2% back when you use a portal you’re already at 15% back. That means if you can find gift cards with a resell rate of 90%+ you’re making at least 5% profit.

Current Gift Card Deals

The other option is to purchase gift cards that eBay is already discounting as part of a sale.

Darden will be the most profitable deal, let’s see the breakdown:

  • Purchase $150 in Darden giftcards for $120 using eBay gift cards that you’ve gotten for at least a 5% discount, pay $114 out of pocket
  • Earn 2x eBay bucks (remember each item needs to be above $50/$100 to earn 3x/4x eBay bucks) for a total of 480 eBay bucks worth $4.8
  • Go through a portal to earn 2% cash back for another $2.4 back
  • Resell for 80% of facevalue or $120

You’ll make $13.2 or a bit more depending on how much your value Chase UR. The iTunes deal is also pretty good if you need iTunes credit, but the resell rates for those are terrible at the moment. Personally I’m just going to focus on other giftcards I know I can resell for 90% of facevalue and easily scale.

Ugh, just saw SaveYa removed the sale option for Sephora after I bought them.Guess I’ll be sitting on these for a while.

SaveYa has removed the option to sell Sephora gift cards. I would expect it to come back in a few days, they are probably overstocked right now due to this sale.

Sephora sells for 80.5% and can buy 3 cards which triggers 8% bucks.

Is anyone else having issues getting the ebay bucks bonus to show on the item pages? I activated it from the email i got as well as the message from ebay in the “my messages” section, and the ebay bucks still show the paltry regular amount. I had to call into ebay and have them manually credit me the additional bucks. I bought 3 x sephora e-cards, those look like a winner too with the bucks promo. Quick delivery. Spend $150, sell $144.90 to saveya (code only), $3 from Ebates 2% portal cashback + $12 ebay bucks. $9.90 profit plus 5x UR points through Chase Ink Plus.

Beautiful! First time ever I was targeted for this and guess what: bought a rather huge item ($200+) on Sunday from the Labor Day specials and the Darden GC yesterday. Think I’ll be stuck with just the Sephora gig as they conveniently sell on Saveya as eGC.

Does anyone have an ebay store and get targeted? I feel like since I opened my store, i havent been targeted. I do get all the lame sellers targets of free listings.

I have a store open and still get the targeted deals like this one.

In the past it has always worked that if you bought multiple gift cards at the same time you would qualify for the Bucks multiplier for the total amount of the transaction. E.g., if you bought 2x $50 GCs you would get the 8x Bucks for $100+ items under this promotion. Has that changed?

Hasn’t changed. Just bought 3x of the Sephora cards for a total of $150 and got $12 in eBucks back.

Can confirm. I just bought 4 of the $25+$5 Domino’s cards and earned $8.00 eBay Bucks.

While this sounds great, all the 90% gift cards I see charge shipping from svm $3.95 per card. :\

Yep that’s new. I confirmed with them that it’s permanent ‘until we reevaluate’ was the message. Take 4% off the table, which takes out a lot of the incentive.
