The Fine Print
- Valid until December 31st, 2015
- Annual fee of $75 is waived the first year
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 2x miles on all Avianca purchases
- 1x miles on all other purchases
- If ineligible for the Signature card, you will be considered for the LifeMiles Visa Card, which earns 15,000 First Use bonus miles after the first purchase, 3,000 Bonus LifeMiles with your annual credit card renewal and 10,000 bonus miles after net spend of $2,500 within the first 90 days of account opening. If ineligible for the LifeMiles Visa Card, you will be considered for the LifeMiles Visa Secured Card. The Secured card earns 5,000 First Use Bonus Miles after the first purchase and is not eligible for the additional spend bonus miles. The Secured card does not earn Annual Renewal Bonus LifeMiles. The Secured card requires a minimum deposit of $300 provided by the cardmember that will be held in a security deposit account
Our Verdict
The standard bonus is 20,000 miles after your first purchase, last year they offered a 40,000 mile bonus (required slightly higher spending at $3,000). If you value LifeMiles highly, I’d recommend getting this offer as they rarely increase the bonus on this card. Make sure you have your SageStream & ARS reports frozen before applying for a US Bank card to improve your chances for being approved.
