[YMMV] Bank of America Offering $150 For Some Inactive Accounts

After calling in they were offered a $150 statement credit if they spent $500 within the next three months. Probably worth logging into your Bank of America account to check to see if you have a similar offer if you haven’t used your account much/at all in the last twelve months. Just wanted to add a data point. The guy wanted some information about why I chose to stop using the card for so long. I was honest and said I found card with better rewards, and had some 0% APR cards for larger purchases. They gave me the promo, but also decided to give me 0% purchase APR until May. I was very happy I called!

I called today and was told that they have applied this deal to my card. Did not push for any other form of advertising or credit cards – just said spend 500 and I should see $150 statement credit in 8-12 weeks for hitting that mark.

Nice post!

Very strange, because I had a bofa card CLOSED twice due to inactivity. I had to call to re-open it. Now they are rewarding inactivity??

I received this via email. I called yesterday, got the offer. But they actually want you to convert the card (at least in my case, as it wasn’t earning any type of rewards at all) to the travel card (in which case you would only get the bonus once). So I kept it as is, will earn the bonus and will apply for the other one when an interesting bonus pops up.

After you enrolled, did you receive any confirmation for signing up for this offer? Thank you!

Nothing here either. Ironically you won’t see Wells Fargo doing this, considering how many unused accounts they forcefully opened, like 2 million?

I hadn’t used mine in a year…until I made one $5 purchase last month. Gah should’ve waited!

I got the offer and I had made a purchase just two weeks ago. I used it for the AT&T offer 🙂

That only makes me think I should stop using my BofA card from now on
